Thai government encourage the investment for industry affairs (BOI). The parent company decides investing to maintain market that comply with an economic expansion in Thailand. So, NHK Spring (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Had starting on 19 december 1963 which Mr.Hisashi Sakamoto who was the president of NHK Spring Co., Ltd. had attended opening.

In the early 1970s, NHK Spring (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was preparing to launch a new business. production of Auto seats.Therefore, a technical assistance agreement with NHK Spring Co., Ltd. in July 1972.

Thai government determine to use more auto parts of the country, because the car production in Thailand are growing. Mr.Shigemi Morita the president of NHK Spring (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. would like to change the normal plant to be the company. By implementing the employee training system on 3S and QCC activities.

Thai government trade liberalization in some part and reducing the regulation lead to many car production factory increasing in Thailand. The demand for vehicles in Thailand was increased continuously. NHK Spring (Thailand) began to build a new factory by expanding the production of Seat & Interior to Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Gateway City, while the production of Suspension Spring and Precision Spring went to Wellgrow Industrial Estate.

In 1997-1998, Asian big financial crisis from Baht floating affected the number of car production which was deceased that remained 140,000 cars in 1998, while IT business was recovering rapidly and HDD business was growing up. Thai government fully liberalized the vehicles industry to recover economic in 2000 in the word “Detroit of Asia” and Free Trade Agreement in ASEAN (AFTA) leaded to export growing continuously.

The Thai government has announced “International standard energy-saving car production project” (Eco-Car) by providing tax incentives for investment in the production of energy-saving cars.. NHK Spring (Thailand) buys land at Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate. To expand the business of producing seats for energy-saving car factories and expanding the HDD Suspension factory at Wellgrow Industrial Estate To maintain a balance between the automotive business and the IT business.
